| Job Description : | Responsibilities and Tasks: • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. • Contribute to and maintain system standards. • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale. • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. • Support daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary. Preferred backup hands on like NetBackup, VEAAM and Baculla. • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary. • Provide escalation support per request from various sources; investigate and troubleshoot issues. • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted parties. • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary. • Participate in on-call escalation rotations for 24x7x365 support; evening, overnight, and weekend, holiday and on-call work may be required. • Other tasks as assigned by management Job Requirements: • Minimum bachelor’s degree , computer sciences or IT engineering will be preferred • Minimum of 10 + years • Experience in problem resolution with IT systems and individuals • Ability to interact with users/vendors in a clear, concise, professional manner Familiarity with a majority of the following: • Proficient on various Virtualisation platforms HCI – NUTANIX, VMware & Hyper-V • Good knowledge of Windows clustering • Knowledge of various BCP DR solutions like BMC, Perpetuity, SRM or SCVMM • Knowledge of various SSL generation, configurations, and mgmt. techniques • Microsoft Windows Server 2k8, 2k12,2k16,2k19 & 2k22 • Knowledge of various Web servers like Internet Information Server (IIS) and Apache etc. • Good knowledge of server handshake and security parameters like SSL, TLS and Ciphers • Windows DNS / BIND / Named • Active Directory / LDAP • Basic knowledge of Linux OS • Solid understanding and working knowledge of complete systems development and deployment lifecycle and of all facets of systems administration in a large scale IT operations unit Additional Information Certification would be given preference. |
